All new releases from Steve and Ruth Smith will be done for digital download only and can be downloaded here.
Bring Him Home is from the Broadway musical Les Misérables. This is Ruth's instrumental arrangement performed by us featuring hammered dulcimer, guitar, and flute.
"I Forget the Title" is a song I (Steve) wrote with my long-time songwriting buddy Elwood T. Simpson Jr. about us having Senior Moments, which is why we titled it "I Forget the Title". If you are a senior, you will surely identify. If you are too young to identify now, this is what you can look forward to in coming years. Good for a chuckle either way!
This beautiful instrumental was written by Ruth for Steve as a Christmas gift because she says Steve is "Always There for Me".
"Maters in the Mailbox" is a song we wrote about neighbors helping neighbors. The inspiration for the song came from neighbors on our mountain putting 'maters (tomatoes) in our mailbox.
"Old Friends" is a new song written recently by Steve and Ruth, along with Steve's lifelong friend and partner in songwriting, Elwood T. Simpson Jr.
Old Friends are certainly life-long treasures!!
Farewell to Peter is a beautiful tune written by Natalie MacMaster, well-known Celtic fiddler from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Here is our version of this music she wrote to honor her friend, newscaster/journalist Peter Jennings, also from Canada.
A warm Christmas song written by Steve about family, love and the homeplace.
